Our Junior Football grades are specially designed for both boys and girls aged between the ages of 9 and 12 yrs old. 

Games are played on Saturday morning at various locations across the North Shore and West Auckland. Home games are usually played at Rosedale Park or the Albany Domain. The competition is administered by our Governing Football Federation, Northern Region Federation (NRF).

Games are 50 minutes long with 2 games played per playing day for grades 9 and 10. Games are 55 minutes long with 2 games played per playing day for grades 11 and 12. Starting at roughly 9.30am or 10am for grades 9 and 10; and 10am or 11am for grades 11 and 12 (competition draw dependent)  Along with the 50 or 55 minutes games, there is a 5 minute intervals between games to allow for a break.

Grades 9 and 10 teams play 7-aside and grades 11 and 12 play 9-aside.

All grades play with goalkeepers.

Grades 9 and 10 fields are typically 55m in length x 35m in width.

Grades 9 and 10 goals are typically 4m in length x 2m in width.

Grades 11 and 12 fields are typically 70m in length x 50m in width.

Grades 11 and 12 goals are typically 5m in length x 2m in width.

Each player should be wearing an Albany club shirt, shorts and socks for their game.

or all games and training, players must be wearing shin pads and boots. These can be purchased at any sporting outlet.

What happens if it’s raining?  

If it’s light or intermittent rain – play goes on. As a winter sport in New Zealand, its expected there will be some drizzly days, it is usually more fun with a few puddles!!

We’ll also send communications via Texts to the coach/manager. From here the coaches/managers will send cascade communication to their team (parents).

We aim to communicate as soon as we know on a Saturday should there be a cancellation. 

Communication is received by the Governing Body, Northern Region Football, following field inspections and communication with local Council.

Should the fields be closed by our local Council, We will be notified and inturn will communicate as above.
